Kashmir has some of the best ranges and peaks which are super perfect for mountaineering. Some of them have been listed below:
Kishtwar

Kishtwar: Kishtwar is one of the base camps for mountain climbing in Kashmir. Mountaineering is quite a hard task here as the peaks here are very high and tough. Preparations for Mountaineering

Mountaineering is not an easy task as it requires hardships and a lot of patience. So, you are highly advised to prepare yourself before you go for mountain climbing. Some tips of preparations for Mountaineering are:

1. Get both mentally and physically prepared. Prior to 2-3 months of mountaineering, go through an exercise program like jogging, cycling, push-ups, etc. Loose that extra fat.

2. If you are medically not fine, then you better go for this strenuous activity.

3. Carry all the necessary medical equipments like first aid box.

4. Learn some basic techniques and ways of mountain climbing from an expert.

5. Try and carry light equipments. The lesser the baggage, the easier it gets to climb the high peaks.

6. Carrying dry fruits, plenty of water and suitable mountaineering clothes are also of utmost importance.

7. A map guiding you through the peaks is also necessary.

Best time to do Mountaineering
Summer in Kashmir
The best time for Mountaineering in Kashmir is no doubt during summer season i.e. from May to October as the weather is quite favourable. Mountaineering during monsoon season is the worst option as the peaks get very slippery due to rain.
